Jo's Writings and Musings

Life has moved me in ways I never expected

A dance I knew I would be part of

But a plot I never understood before being in the moment

My heart bears scars Of love, of abandonment, of abuse

My Spirit is still strong It has healed, it still yearns

I still pray for that I have not experienced

For joy, for a love reciprocated, for security and protection

Life has bent me and formed the person I look at in the mirror

But the soul that stares back is kind, caring, and still loves

She prays for peace and joy, and continues to wait

Practicing the dance

Slow turns, deliberate movements

Smooth and calculated jumps

Like a ballet with a single dancer

Spinning and stretching

Waiting to be caught

A little bit about me. I am an Indigenous Writer who wants to share my culture and stories and legends of my people with others to promote understanding and acceptance. I write stories and legends as they were told to me by my Grandparents and Parents. This is a safe space to learn more about my culture where you can ask questions, and read about the traditions I was raised with. There is something to be learned in every aspect of life. You just need to be open to finding it..

If you are also a writer in need of editing services, I do that too. I believe good writing comes from reading as much as you can and from learning and applying good story telling techniques
